So much for my son's concept of time....
He is a typical 3 year old, very mischievous. I was exactly the same when I was a child. My mum used to say that if I wanted Xmas presents I had better be good. Santa and his helpers are watching me.
I told Sam and now he keeps saying "I've been good, now can I have my presents"?.
He really doesn't understand the concept of time. He thinks anything that has already occurred is yesterday, and tomorrow is his grasp of the future. With this in mind I decided to buy him an Advent calender. I got one for his older sister too.
Having never seen one before, he spent Sunday evening staring at it wondering what was behind the numbered doors. I told him that it counted the days to Christmas and that when they were all opened it would be Christmas day.
Yesterday morning he opened the first one and was delighted with his chocolate treat. Later that day after nursery I was doing some housework when I realised he was very quiet and up to something. Then I realised the Advent calender wasn't where I had left it.
I found him in the kitchen with his mouth full of chocolate.
"You won't have any left" I said.
And he replied "Can I have my presents now that all the chocolate is gone and I haven't been naughty?"![]()
